CALGARY, AB: The Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association is very pleased that Bill C-49, Amendments to the Transportation Act has received Royal Assent.
“C-49 will give Canada’s export grain markets assurance that we can deliver the safest, most nutritious, highest quality product on time. This is crucial as we move into our 2018 growing season and foreign markets are making their buying decisions,” said Levi Wood, President.
We thank Ministers Garneau and MacAuley, the House of Commons and Senate for ensuring that this bill would improve rail transportation with greater accountability and developing methods to safeguard delivery dates.
“This Bill improves the ability for wheat growers to move their grain. My fellow producers will benefit from this step forward,” said Daryl Fransoo, Saskatchewan Director.
