CALGARY, AB: The Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association congratulates the Hon. David Marit upon his appointment as the Minister of Agriculture for Saskatchewan.
“The Wheat Growers has a long history of working closely with the past Ministers of Agriculture in Saskatchewan and we look forward to working with Minister Marit in the future. The issues of carbon tax, international trade, grain grading and transportation are just some of the topics that our Board and members continue to work on” said Levi Wood, President. “We also thank the Hon. Lyle Stewart for all that he has done for agriculture in Saskatchewan and wish him the very best as he battles his illness.”
Agriculture contributes approximately $15 Billion in agri-food products and accounts for over one-third of the provinces export earnings. Agriculture is crucial to the economic well-being of the province of Saskatchewan.
